I watched an anime before where one of the main characters loses her sense of taste as a consequence of using her powers. Her team was rewarded with a dinner service and she would exclaim about the texture of a good piece of sashimi. This reminded me of that!
My partner watches Food Wars and says I remind them of the character that is a super taster as a way to grill me for sometimes being too picky to enjoy things haha.
Yes! It was Yuki Yuna is a Hero. It came out following the edgy magical girl wave started by Madoka so the story is a bit grim, but it's one of the first times I saw multiple physical disabilities represented in anime (and among the main cast).
Let me know if you do try it! And thank you... I'm starting to be able to taste/smell again today :)
This was a great read and now, I TOO am ready to return to choux after not having the best experiences making or eating them.
Also, damn, I’m so sorry your COVID bout has been so terrible 😢 hope you feel better soon.

Ah! That's so awesome. May I ask which anime?

And there's no shame in knowing what you like!
